City of Ink co-founder Miya Bailey posted an interesting blog today. He spoke on the developing trend of Celebrity Tattoo Artists, namely Chris Brown, Rihanna, Swizz Beatz and Lil Wayne. Ironically this comes one week after DJ Nabs wrote a blog touching on Celebrity DJ's. Its been a rough couple of months for celebs, they're either dying or getting blogged about (sorry, couldn't help myself). But yeah...Miya feels that Celebrity Tattoo Artists are disprespecting the culture and Black folks period by jumping head first into the field with training or due paying. I kinda feel him on this. And if there's anyone that deserves to feel this way, its him. Anyways, I thought it was a pretty good read and wanted to share it with ya'll. The senitments he shares go beyond tattoo, its running rampant in many artforms these days.
